What do you know about Edamame?
Edamame is actually an immature green-coloured soybean in the pod. It is formed within a capsule or pod. Sometimes it is referred to as a soybean-type vegetable. It is widely cooked in Japan with light salt water. The Japanese call it ‘Mukimame’ when the beans get out of the pod. Most of the edamame is sold in the US in frozen form. You can get it in most of the big supermarkets in the US. Almost all the modern health food stores keep it.
Edamame is served in the bars and restaurants of China and Japan. In traditional cooking, edamame is incorporated into soups, salads, noodle dishes, stews etc.
Ingredients:
(i) Take 10 Ounces of frozen edamame
(ii) 1 tablespoon full olive oil
(iii) 1 tablespoon full sesame oil
(iv) Take salt and nanami togarashi according to the taste
Preparation:
First of all, you have to defrost Edamame and spread it out on an aluminium foil. As edamame is usually available in frozen vegetable sections in the market, it is necessary to defrost them.
Now, shower some olive oil and sesame oil over them, and sprinkle some salt also.
This is now time to heat the grill to a medium temperature and put the aluminium foil with the edamame mixture into the grill rack. Spread them well on the grill rack. After grilling it for 5 minutes flip it over and grill for another 5 minutes. In the meantime, it will turn brown then take it away from the grill.
Now, sprinkle some nanami togarashi and light soy sauce to add the taste and serve.
