Leonardo DiCaprio is being nominated for the Best Actor category at the British Academy Film Awards for his incredible acting in “The Revenant”. In this film, he played “Hugh Glass” the role as a man living in the frontier region. DiCaprio was the favourite star regarding bookies perception. The role of “Huge Glass” was like a ‘fur trapper’, ‘fur trader’, ‘hunter’ as well as ‘explorer’ – all the way fighting for his life, brought him the 6th Oscar nomination. Many people considered it as his best ever performance.
With this nomination, his competitors were Matt Damon for film “The Martian”, Bryan Cranston for his play in “Trumbo”, Michael Fassbender for his film “Steve Jobs” and Eddie Redmayne for his role as a transgender artist in the film “The Danish Girl”.
In the nomination of the best actress category, Alicia Vikander for the film “The Danish Girl” was competing with Brie Larson for her film “Room”, Cate Blanchett for her film “Hymn”, Maggie Smith for “The Lady in the Van” and Saoirse Ronan for the film “Brooklyn”.

“Bridge of Spies” of Steven Spielberg’s Cold War thriller has got 9 nominations. “Carol” of Todd Haynes dealing with lesbian romance where two women developed a bonding which in turn became a love story with many complicated outcome has also got 9 nominations for Sunday’s prizes. The film “The Revenant” has got 8, while George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” has got 7 nominations.
However, at Annabel’s on Saturday night Leonardo shook a clean shaven look which was a long ways from the ‘unkempt beard’ he developed while acting his award nominated film. The Titanic star looked spruce in a fresh white shirt and dark suit, which had only one button locked as he appeared at the venue. He wore a larger dark winter-coat with a mauve silk lining inside over his customized suit.
