Nineteen-year-old Manu Bhaker is currently having training in Croatia with other members of the Indian team going to the Olympics. The Indian team is taking part in the ISSF World Cup here.
Indian sportspersons are ready to sacrifice everything for the Olympics. The Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, from July 23 to August 8. India’s star shooter Manu Bhaker will also take part in it.
This shooter has decided to abstain from social media till the end of the games. On the other hand, 36-year discus thrower Seema Punia has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. It happened when she won the gold medal in the National Inter-State Athletics Championships by completing a throw of 63.70 meters.
Bhaker tweeted on Tuesday, “I am entering the final phase of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics, so I will stay away from social media until the Olympics are over. I will need your love, blessings and support to make the country proud. See you soon.”

In the ongoing ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) World Cup, Bhaker had teamed up with Saurabh Chaudhary. They were to compete in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team and won the silver medal. However, she ended seventh in the 25m pistol event won by another shooter Rahi Sarnobat.
On the other hand, 30-year-old Rahi Sarnobat won the first gold medal for India at the currently running Shooting World Cup in Croatia. The Indian shooter scored 39 points out of 50 in the Women’s 25m Air Pistol event. Rahi Sarnobat was in outstanding form during the final. Rahi took the lead from the first series and maintained it upto the last shot.
Bhaker had won a silver medal in 10m Air Pistol in an individual event in the New Delhi World cup. She also won 10m Air Pistol in a team event with Saurabh Chaudhary.
