Michael Phelps has been chosen as Team U.S.A’s. Flag carrier in the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics. The US Olympic Committee declared that Michael Phelps, who is at 31 years of age, will represent the US Team on 5th August 2016 at the Maraca Stadium. Phelps was being selected from the American group going through a vote by individuals.
He is one of America’s top swimmers and the most enhanced Olympian ever, with a sum of 22 medals in three Olympiads. Phelps additionally holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals, Olympic gold in individual events, and Olympic medals in an individual event for a male.
In winning eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games, Phelps snatched the record from kindred American swimmer Mark Spitz for the most front placed competition at any single Olympic Games. Five of those triumphs were in individual occasions, tying the single Games record.
