The Block Panchayat President Election results in UP show an indication of the Assembly Elections to be held in 2022. BJP has hoisted the flag in the Block Panchayat President election. In the election that was held on Saturday, BJP has contested 735 Block Panchayats out of 825 and won 648 seats. So, it is clear that if the anti-BJP oppositions cannon able to maintain the ‘Federal Front’ the result of the Assembly Election 2022 in UP will be almost like this.

The Samajwadi Party has also claimed to score a century in the Block Panchayat President election. BJP’s ally Apna Dal (S) and independents have also captured more than 70 seats. Samajwadi Party’s account has not been opened in 14 districts, where the BJP candidates have won elections in all Block Panchayats.

In the election held for the post of president in 825 area Panchayats of the state, 349 Block Heads were elected unopposed. Out of these 349 posts, 334 BJP candidates were elected unopposed Block Heads. Voting for the post of chairman in 476 Block Panchayats in all 75 districts started at 11 am on Saturday.

The counting of votes took place after voting till 3 pm. By three-thirty the results had begun to come. Results came in all 476 District Area Panchayats by 6 pm. BJP Block Heads have been elected in 648 Block Panchayats.

Bombs, guns, sticks, rods, vandalism, beating of opposition candidates – all these incidents at Block Panchayat President Election in Uttar Pradesh reminded us of the West Bengal Panchayat Election in 2018. A clean sweep by BJP was reported in 14 districts

BJP has won elections in all the Area Panchayats of Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Agra, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Shravasti, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Pilibhit, Kannauj, Banda, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra districts.

This is a clear indication that the anti-BJP alliance has unable to create an impact in the minds of the people. If the trend continues, BJP will collect a majority of the votes in the coming Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh. It is also a lesson for the anti-BJP parties like Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Indian National Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Aam Aadmi Party, Communist Party of India, etc. to abstain from fighting election individually. If they fail to become united in maintaining the ‘Federal Front’ in India, BJP will take the advantage to retain the power in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election in 2022.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the tendency of the people was that they were in favour of the BJP. The strategy of the party proved to be effective. We were also first in the District Panchayat President Election. BJP had fielded its candidates in 735 Blocks out of 825. In some places, both the workers were fighting for the BJP. We had given up a total of 90 seats. In the trends so far, BJP was winning more than 635 seats. This number would increase further. These were the seats connecting the associates.

Swasthya Sathi Healthcare Scheme is at the top of demand after getting started from December 1, 2020, at various districts in West Bengal.

The age of the Swasthya Sathi healthcare program has started barely 5 days. It is showing that most of the districts including South 24 Parganas are attended with consumers in the government camp of the ‘Duare Sarkar’ Programme. The ‘Duare Sarkar’ Programme has been launched by the Government of West Bengal and the government officials have been organizing camps in several districts.

The lowest attendance was at the Kalimpong camp. A total of 8,37,282 people in the state have contacted the camp till last Thursday for the program which started on December 1, 2020. The Swasthya Sathi healthcare project was ahead in terms of demand. The number of applications submitted is more than the number of self-help group loans.

There are currently 22,515 camps running across the state. According to administrative sources, ordinary people are applying for 35 types of services in the camp. In the last four days, more than 1500 people came to the camp in South 24 Parganas asking for several services. Bankura is after South 24 Parganas. The number of attendees so far was more than 6,500. More than 65,000 people have contacted in the camps of North 24 Parganas.

Attendance at camps in Murshidabad, Nadia, East and West Midnapore ranged from 72,000 to 55,000 people. At least 50,000 people reached in East Burdwan district, 43,000 people in Howrah district, 32,000 people in Hooghly district, 30,000 people in Purulia district and 26,000 people in Birbhum district have sought services in those camps. At least 20,000 people have applied for the services in North Dinajpur, Malda, Cooch Behar, West Burdwan and Jalpaiguri district.

In a special drive in North 24 Parganas, people connected to several projects of Municipality have been approaching door-to-door in several wards and supplying application form regarding Swasthya Sathi Healthcare Scheme.

The number of people attended in Kolkata was 13,600. The number of people attended in the ‘Duare Sarkar’ camps in Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, South Dinajpur and Jhargram is less than 10,000.

It may happen because many people are not aware of the schemes. As the people are getting aware of the Swasthya Sathi Healthcare Scheme, they are getting interested to apply.

Swasthya Sathi Healthcare Scheme is at the top of the service demand. More than 5,978 applications have been submitted for this project. According to administrative sources, the demand is highest as the healthcare project is open to all. The number of applications for ‘Khadya Sathi’ Scheme (food partner project services) was likely 94,743. More than 6,000 applications have been submitted for the 100-day work project.

Nearly 35,446 applications were submitted for caste certificate. Nearly 31,000 applications were submitted for Old Age Pension Scheme, 26,000 applications for Krishak Bandhu Scheme and about 11,000 applications for Bangla Awas Yojana. The number of applications for social pension, scholarship, ration, land, agricultural loan, widow allowance is within the range of 10,000. A number of employment-related applications were near about 909. There are various applications submitted for toilets, police and roads also.

Due to overcrowding and protests, the ‘Duare Sarkar’ Programme (government at the doorstep) in Barasat was disrupted. Crowds have been gathering in a specific ward in Barasat since morning. As the day progressed, thousands of people gathered and at the mid of the day, there was a huge crowd. Most of the people came to register for Swasthya Sathi Healthcare Project. Due to the pressure of the crowd, social distancing rule due to COVID-19 pandemic could not be possible to maintain there.

Allegedly, the BJP workers and supporters started protest also. The protesters questioned why there was a single camp for the 25,000 people of four wards. The police and the government workers had to struggle to cope with the crowd and the situation got out of control. As a result of that, the camp had to be closed. It was announced on behalf of the government that the Swasthya Sathi healthcare program would be arranged at home in smaller areas to avoid a chaotic situation like this.

Nine Al-Qaeda terrorists arrested on Saturday morning from West Bengal and Kerala by The National Investigation Agency after multiple searches in the two states. Among the 9 arrested terrorists, 6 were from Murshidabad in West Bengal and 3 were from Ernakulam. According to the NIA, these 9 militants were involved in a sabotage plan.

The National Investigation Agency stated that Al-Qaeda militants had been active in various Indian states for some time. These active members worked on interstate modules. Their main goal was to kill innocent civilians. The terrorists had planned sabotage in various significant places of the country. Their aim was to create fear and panic in the minds of the masses through terrorist activities and sabotage.

Al-Qaeda’s operatives in this interstate module have been monitored by the National Investigation Agency for a long time. A special team of the NIA searched several places in West Bengal and Kerala. Eventually, 9 people were arrested from Murshidabad and Ernakulam. The NIA has started an investigation in an attempt to find out how they plotted sabotage in some places.

Several people have been arrested from multiple districts of Kerala in the last year including ISIS terrorists. Later, as the investigation progressed, it was found that ISIS had spread its teamwork in different parts of Kerala. Several of them have already been arrested.

On the other hand, the police-administration was aware of the growing number of militants in Murshidabad of West Bengal. Since then, several people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in several other militant attacks, including the Khagragar blast. The members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, a militant organization of Bangladesh, were among them.

According to sources of the National Investigation Agency, Al-Qaeda leaders in Pakistan were training these 9 militants utilizing the social media platforms. The order was to launch militant attacks in different parts of India. The target was the capital city of Delhi and adjoining areas. Various digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, indigenous firearms, body armour made from local areas, various home-made explosives, books and documents were recovered from the terrorists.

West Bengal has become a home ground of the terrorists for quite a long time. The terrorists get some unofficial benefits with utilizing their religion in this state due to the majority of the secular people here. They initially remain above suspicion because the administration in West Bengal has been acting with a secular angle of vision since the past. So, the terrorists can easily stay in West Bengal and nobody doubts them. It is much easier to stay in West Bengal and make operation in the other states of India and communicate through various social media platforms.

After a preliminary investigation, the NIA said that the nine Al-Qaeda terrorists were raising money for a terrorist attack. Besides, they were supposed to go to Delhi recently. The purpose was to procure sophisticated firearms and other weapons.

According to NIA sources, name of the nine arrested militants is Murshid Hasan, Yaqub Biswas, Mosharraf Hossain, Nazmus Shakib, Abu Sufian, Moinul Mandal, Liu Yan Ahmed, Al Mamun Kamal and Atitur Thaman. All of them will be produced in court and their application for police custody will be informed.

Medical experts in Indian have already said that the application of the Japanese anti-retroviral drug ‘Favipiravir’ is underway in China, Japan, Russia and Italy to treat COVID-19 infections. Now, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in Mumbai is set to launch a clinical trial of ‘Favipiravir’ with the approval of the country’s Drug Controller General.

Shekhar C Mande, Director General, the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), a government agency in India, said that the anti-retroviral drug could do well in coronavirus patients. CSIR is the largest research and development government agency in India. He said that the benefits of this drug have already been reported in China and Japan. Trials of the drug were also reported in Italy. Shekhar C Mande said that the experimental application of this drug will also start in India. Other anti-viral drugs such as the Ebola combating drug Remdesivir, HIV drug Lopinavir and Ritonavir have also been included in the list of clinical trials.

According to Shekhar C Mande, Favipiravir has become ‘end-to-end synthesis’. It has been observed that there is no need to import any material from abroad for the production of this drug. Everything we can use in this country.

‘Favipiravir’ is made by Toyama Chemical of Japan. The brand name of this drug is ‘Avigan’. When the outbreak of the influenza virus reached a critical stage in 2014, the drug was developed by the company. This drug became a major weapon for scientists to cure influenza at that time. Since there are some similarities between the genes of the SARS-COV-2 virus and the influenza virus, the scientists claim that ‘Favipiravir’ will work in the same way to cure this deadly COVID-19.

Scientists say the drug is a derivative of ‘Pyrazinecarboxamide’. Tests on animals of this drug have been successful. This drug can reduce influenza virus, yellow fever, any viral infections of hands and feet. Basically the chemical formula of this drug can reduce the harmful effects of an RNA virus.

This SARS-COV-2 is a single-stranded RNA virus, and its spike protein enters the cell in association with the carrier cell protein.

This viral strain has become much more lethal due to multiple genetic mutations. There have been so many chemical changes in it that it is not yet possible to stop this virus. And this particular strain of beta-corona has become much more contagious than the five common flu viruses. Scientists say that this antiviral drug will stop this genetic mutation. If the structure of the gene cannot be changed, the invasive power of the virus will gradually decrease.

No toxic effects of this drug have yet been observed in human cells. Scientists claim that the drug does not interfere with RNA and DNA synthesis. So, no harmful side effects have been observed so far.

Clinical trials of this drug are presently undergoing in China, Japan and Italy. The drug has been administered to patients at three hospitals in Massachusetts. The drug has been tested on 50 coronavirus-positive patients at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. A 65-year-old Jamaat member who had attended the ‘Tablighi Jamaat’ meeting in Delhi last month was being treated as a coronavirus-positive patient. He escaped from the hospital on Monday night, April 6, 2020, after breaking the glass pane and cutting the wire mesh on the window of the hospital in Uttar Pradesh.

His name was Safid Miyan, and he was a resident of Sursuri in Nepal. Safid Miyan was one of the members of a group of 17 people came from Nepal and attended ‘Tablighi Jamaat’ gathering at Delhi.

He tied his clothes in the window of the isolation ward. Then he broke the window glass, cut wire mesh and climbed down using on his clothes as a rope. The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh on Monday night. The police is searching him.

Nizamuddin’s gathering has already created deep concern across the country. According to statistics, the central health ministry has said that 30% of the total corona patients in the country have Nizamuddin connections. Even the Health Ministry said that now the number of victims is doubled in 4.1 days. If the Nizamuddin’s incident could not have take place, it would have taken 7.8 days. The rope tore suddenly and the man fell down and died on the spot. This incident of Jamat member increases concern among the people, because if the corona patient moves around untreated, he can infect a number of other people and then the infections among people become uncontrollable.

Five jawans have been killed in the exchange of fire with the terrorists who tried to cross over to the Indian territory in Keran sector of North Kashmir.

India was being criticised for a shortage of lab testing facilities for the coronavirus. But, it was Minal Dakhave Bhosale, the Chief Virologist of the Mylab Lifesolutions Pvt. Ltd. of Pune, who designed the coronavirus kit that gives results within 2 hours and 30 minutes.

She was in pregnancy and expecting her baby in a few hours. She submitted the documentation of the kit for evaluation by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) on 18 March. She gave birth to a daughter. Before giving birth, she had been working day and night in her heart condition and doctors also delayed her delivery for her noble work. The doctors also allowed her, in spite of her life-threatening risk, to remain involve in making Covid-19 test kit to save the countrymen, because all the Covid-19 tests were being performed with kits imported from abroad.

Mylab Lifesolutions Pvt. Ltd. became the first Indian company to receive approval to make and sell coronavirus testing kits in India. The first batch of 150 kits has been shipped into diagnostic laboratories in Pune, Maharastra, Delhi, Bengaluru and Goa this week. Mylab Lifesolutions Pvt. Ltd. also prepares testing kit for HIV, Hepatitis B & C and other diseases. Dr. Gautam Wankhede, the Director of Medical Affairs, Mylab Lifesolutions Pvt. Ltd., disclosed the matter in an interview with the BBC news channel that they can supply almost 1,00,000 Covid-19 testing kits per week and also have the capacity to produce 2,00,000 kits if required.

One kit that is developed in India, costs ₹1200 ($16.03 and €14.35) and can be used for testing 100 samples – almost a quarter of the price (₹4500) which India used to pay importing from abroad.

RT-PCR is a test that can detect what is the nature of the genome of a virus attached to the body. That is, whether it is an RNA virus or not. Accurate results are available in RT-PCR test in case of covid-19 infection. However, this test takes a lot of time and money. A quick test requires such a kit that will detect if there is an infection in the body. Dr. Minal Bhosle told in an interview that along with external signs, those who are asymptomatic, will quickly be detected by this Indian kit whether they have viral infections in their body or not. Quarantine centers are crowded with people all over the country. You can quickly identify who is infected through this test. If thousands of people come in contact with that infected person, they too can be screened-tested quickly.

The new coronavirus testing kit is named ‘Patho Detect’ and can detect infection within 2 hour 30 minutes. Under the supervision of ICMR ( Indian Council of Medical Research), 50 more laboratories in the country have been approved to prepare this test kit. Director of Mylab Lifesolutions, Pune, Dr. Gautam Wankhede told reporters that more 118 test labs in India are working to prepare this kit.

The Central Government has challenged the Delhi High Court’s decision by the Patiala House Court to stop the execution of Nirbhaya convicts till further orders. The High Court also held a special hearing on this matter. On behalf of the Center, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that guilty Pawan was not intentionally filing mercy petition. All that was happening was a deliberate plan to frustrate the legal order. The High Court had summoned the reply by issuing notices to the four convicts as well as the Tihar Jail Administration and DG Jail.

Tushar Mehta told that Pawan is not intentionally filing mercy petition or curative petition. It was planned stagnation. If the order of the trial court was upheld, then Pawan could also file a curative and mercy petition. In such a situation, others would not be hanged. So, it was a deliberate plan to deliberately frustrate a legal order.

The Solicitor General, Tushar Mehta also told that the guilty were taking advantage of the legal process. They are utilizing legal protection to avoid punishment for this horrifying crime. The convicts filed an application in the trial court to postpone the execution. There was no reason for this to be judged. This case would be categorized in history as such a heinous crime, in which the perpetrators misused the legal process. Mr. Mehta also told that it was unfortunate that even after all legal options were exhausted; the convicts had been repeatedly petitioning the court to postpone the execution. If such a process continued, the case would never end.

Advocate on behalf of the Criminials, A P Singh, told that it would be illegal to hang the remaining convicts pending the plea of ​​one convict. Right now the convicts have legal options including mercy petition.

This is the scenario of the Indian judiciary that has been utilised by the advocates in India for years after years. This can be named as a perfect mockery of justice as well as the Indian Penal Code.

People of India feel deeply frustrated to see these dramas of the advocates and associates. In that case, a 27-year-old veterinarian became the victim; she was raped and burnt in Hyderabad. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), around 100 sexual assaults happen every day in India. More than 32000 rape cases were reported across the country in the year 2017. But, the real number is much higher because most of the cases got concealed regarding shame and loss of social reputation faced by the victims. So, the legal maxim comes in our mind once again – “Justice delayed is justice denied”.

UIDAI introduces Virtual ID for Aadhaar data-safety. Image Courtesy – DNA India

Unique Identification Authority of India has introduced a new concept to protect Aadhaar data security in India, named ‘Virtual ID’. The authority said that this new system will ensure only need-based sharing of information, and it will be a limited way of KYC to keep the data safety of the Aadhaar Card.

This new system of ‘Virtual ID’ will be applicable from 1st March, 2018; it will allow more than 119 crore Aadhaar holders to create a temporary number consisting of 16 digits that can be shared with banks, telecom services, insurance companies, etc. The Unique Identification Authority of India also stated that all service providers must upgrade their systems to receive ‘Virtual ID’ from 1st June, 2018.

The officials said that nobody could locate a person’s Aadhaar number by using the ‘Virtual ID’. This ‘Virtual ID’ will be related to limited sharing of information, and this concept is initiated to prevent possible misuse and data theft. The current system allows 5 details of a person when sharing with a service provider at the time of authentication – i.e. name, date of birth, photo of the person, address details and mobile number of the person. But the new system will allow only need-based sharing of information.

If you want a passport, only then all information may be shared, but if you want a new mobile connection, the telecom service provider will get only your name, photo and address details.

It is clear in the circular of UIDAI that an Aadhaar holder can use ‘Virtual ID’ on behalf of the Aadhaar number whenever KYC services are required. Users can create their ‘Virtual ID’ using the UIDAI website, which will be valid for a certain period of time, or till the time when users want to change it.

The ‘Virtual ID’ will be mapped into the user’s Aadhaar number at the system end, and it will work for authentication. As per the rule of Unique Identification Authority of India, no agency will be allowed to create ‘Virtual ID’ on behalf of an Aadhaar holder for authentication purposes.
